  • A very useful attribute of a credit card (at least the one I have) -- if you consolidate all your transactions on the one card it becomes a budgeting tool: you set a monthly target (e.g. $3000 per month) and stick to it, and you pay it off every month.

  • I grew up in Denver. In the '50's I saw a funnel cloud on the west side of town pretty close to the foothills (Brentwood shopping center area); later in the '60's I saw a dust devil tear the roof off a shed (Holly Hills area when you could look east and see prairie, not houses).

  • Fear of arriving late and missing the flight is my #1. It happened only once (knock on wood) due to bad weather and a traffic jam in Boston's Callahan tunnel, but what an ordeal afterwards. That was before the airlines got so mean about refunding or helping. We could have driven the journey faster.

  • Most mobile home parks I've seen (both in the western and north-eastern US) make you rent the property, and the property is very narrow -- about two trailer-widths. It's pretty clear that the article's "manufactured home" is not meant for that sort of "park".
